The Process of Hard Embossing: The substrate is embossed by passing through a oil heated shim roll and embossing roll. The nickel (Ni) embossed shim is clamped into master roll (as //) and inside master roll rotating heated compliant. The embossed area would be according to the circumference of master roll that maybe 520mm or 615 mm and as wide as the shim affixed to the master roller. The shim is wrapped and clamped around the circumference of the master roll. After embossing, the substrate passes through a tension controlled nip roller and then rewound onto a rewind pneumatic shaft. The hardened adjustable cams on each end of the die roller allow for the lift on/lift off of each embossing impression roller.
